Ana P. Serres
Spanish visual artist with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca. Her work is rooted in contemporary figuration through the direct language of oil painting, centered on an exploration of light, color, and movement. Currently based in her studio in the rural Algarve, the Atlantic landscape and southern light form the backbone of her aesthetic proposal. She uses the natural environment, the sea, and everyday scenes as points of departure to construct visual narratives of profound atmospheric depth.
In her work, light acts as the true structural axis of the composition: it not only illuminates the scene but also models form and infuses the canvas with chromatic complexity. A hallmark of her practice is the organic integration of the human figure into the landscape, introducing a dynamic energy that tangibly connects the viewer with the environment. Her technique is defined by a swift, gestural, and bold execution, where the ductility of oil allows her to work with loose strokes that flow with freshness and expressiveness across the surface.
