Jorge Santos
Born in Loulé, Jorge Santos grew up in Liège, Belgium, and later returned to Portugal as an adult. His work explores a poetic inventory of present emotions through Portugalia Nostalgia, a body of work shaped by memories of childhood and the ideas he associates with that time.
For Jorge Santos, creation is a process of transformation, distortion, and at times sublimation, whether positive or negative. His practice unfolds as a kind of game, where preconceived ideas are set aside and artworks gradually take shape as material form.
